Uncle Ralphie is what I called him,tho not a real uncle never the less he was my Uncle Ralphie. As i look back I remember those Sealtest picnics at you house in Cary.Yep and my uncle Ralphie would NEVER give out the secret recipie for those delicious shrimp he would make. From my wedding to my retirement him and Joan were there. You see my dad and Uncle Ralphie worked together at Sealtest and how ironic that in Belvidere that they live right across the street. I will never forget after my dad passed Uncle Ralphie said to me with tears in his eyes"I promised him" I said what ? "I promised him that I would look after your mom" and that he did at times when I couldn't get out to mom quickly ralph was there. I will forever be grateful for my Uncle Ralphie and the way he always liked helping others. Not sure if there is ice cream in heaven but I know him and dad are there. I shall miss you Uncle Ralpie so I won.t say good bye but rather see you soon!
Because in Christ there are no good byes we will see each other again!

I had the pleasure of working with Ralph as a board member when I lived in the FSHA back until 2008. The committee ran under his leadership until disbanded by the park owners. It was never the same after that. Rest in Peace Ralph.

My dear brother, Ralph. My sympathy to your whole family in their loss. Ralph, you are my Hero. I remember you looking out for me when we were kids-especially when we were in the orphanage. Then our lives changed again when Mom(Marie) married Albert (Grandpa K-dog). You walked me to school, a new different place for both of us. Even in those days you were always smiling, the class clown. Does anyone else remember you building the boat in our basement in Chicago? You were always the dreamer, the eternal optimist. But also the hard worker for your dreams. You wanted a wife and children. And there you were - married for 56 years to Joan with 4 children - that you worked very long hours for, to give them a life you never had when young. You dreamt of a big house-so you remodeled and built it.
I know you are in God's arms.
Love
Alicemae

Ralph was my first Scoutmaster and only for a short time. I remember many good times with him and all the leaders of Troop 160 in Cary.
I am now active in a Troop and at Sycamore District Scouting also in part due to Ralph's love of Scouts.
I am going camping this weekend and will not be able to attend the services. Thanks Ralph for turning me onto Scouts and camping. I will be thinking of you at the campfire this weekend.
Oh Great Scoutmaster until we meet again!!!

Ralph was one of my favorite people in the world. He always had a smile and a quick wit. He and Joanie are the epitome of married love...they were still in love after 55 years! Ralph will be missed by many, many people. He was generous to a fault, and was always entertaining. Rest in Peace, my friend.
